Hi. I’m a photojournalist of Maine lives; my own, current, and past.
If you’re like me, and enjoy a haddock chowder made from scratch, or an old tale of Downeast romance, or the restoration of an old island cottage—you may enjoy this blog.
Join me in relishing Maine’s beauty and grittier moments.
I have a love for stories and storytelling.
I grew up on a small farm on the New Meadows River in West Bath, ME, with a saltwater cove nearby where I would swim on hot summer days.
As a young girl, I read hundreds and hundreds of books. These novels inspired me to look for all the small details that make life so wonderful - and I still do, everyday.
I went to the University of Maine at Farmington for an English degree. And husband grew up in the Western Mountains of Maine in a town called New Vineyard.
We bought an old house in the heart of Farmington, ME and spent a few years fixing it up. We now live in Maine’s coolest little city, Bath. We’ve had two kids since then, and have been restoring old homes in my hometown.
I work in the Children’s Room at the Patten Free Library, and Jake is a self employed carpenter at Jacob Charles Builder, LLC.
The State of Maine has a large place in my heart and I am constantly amazed by its beauty, history, and wonderful inhabitants. This blog is a way to tell my story and others’ stories.
